Sadly here in China, many children have lost one or both parents to AIDS and may have no one caring for them. Many also have dropped out of school because their remaining family members, if any, can no longer afford the fees.
Back in November 2009, in partnership with the Chi Heng Foundation, Accor Greater China announced its first Corporate Social Responsibility initiative “Empowerment Builds the Future”. The Le Kids (lè,乐 means happy in Chinese) Warrior to Wall challenge is the inspiration behind Accor General Managers wishing to raise funds for this sustainable project.
With funding contribution from the Accor Foundation, the “Empowerment Builds the Future” program has established a workshop in a rural Province of China, and recruited and trained women whose families have been impacted by HIV/AIDS, to produce eco-friendly bags. These bags are now sold in all Accor hotels located in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Proceeds from the sale of these bags are being used now to provide educational opportunities and scholarships for the local children.
To support this ongoing initiative, Le Kids Warrior to Wall riders invites your help to raise funds that will make a big difference to the lives of these children.

All money Le Kids raises goes directly towards the Chi Heng Foundation who are improving the future for the children of China. All Accor’s administration is given on a voluntary basis by the Accor team and friends with the same community desire to “make a difference” for the kids of China.
